OWH VCMP Challenges 6 to 10

VCMP #6  Use the sketch #136 and Punches

I used a leaf punch for a fall card.  I used distress ink on the edges of the yellow one.

VCMP #7  Create a Christmas card for a kid and a Any Hero Christmas card.  I wanted to try out the stamps I got with the animal snowman for the kids card.

VCMP #8 Create a sports themed card.
I used a stamp I got when my daughter was playing basketball and never used.  I wasn't sure what I had in a sports theme until I found that one. The sentiment is one I got from Simon Says Stamp.

VCMP #9  Create a card with a tool I haven't used for awhile.  None of my tools have been used for almost 2 months but I haven't used the piercing tool for quite a while.  I used it to make the faux stitching around the card.  I saw the chevron idea in a magazine and had the right size pieces left from some other cards I made with 6x6 papers.

VCMP #10 Create a card that represents your state.
North Carolina's flag is red, white, and blue with yellow letters so I used those colors to make a card.

  7. That's a perfect sentiment for the basketball card, Beth. And the background paper is great. Thanks for playing along!

  8. Great set of cards! (Looks like we used the same paper for our sports-themed card!)

Your Christmas cards are perfect! I especially like your use of ribbons. In each case, they really help to tie the whole card together -- no pun intended. :)

Thanks so much for playing along with the Christmas is for Kids VCMP challenge!

  9. wow, all of your cards are great! I, too, loved the one with the zig zags and the faux stitching! did you pierce the holes, then draw the stitches? if so, I love that idea and will be "borrowing" it in the future! ;-)

    1. Penny, I learned that technique from Sandy. She would do her stitching like that before she got her sewing machine.

    1. Candy, we have to have our Christmas cards to the shippers by Oct. 31st for Operation Write Home. They send out blank greeting cards to the deployed service men and women so they can use them to write home.
