VCMP #6 Use the sketch #136 and Punches
I used a leaf punch for a fall card. I used distress ink on the edges of the yellow one.
VCMP #7 Create a Christmas card for a kid and a Any Hero Christmas card. I wanted to try out the stamps I got with the animal snowman for the kids card.
VCMP #8 Create a sports themed card.
I used a stamp I got when my daughter was playing basketball and never used. I wasn't sure what I had in a sports theme until I found that one. The sentiment is one I got from Simon Says Stamp.
VCMP #9 Create a card with a tool I haven't used for awhile. None of my tools have been used for almost 2 months but I haven't used the piercing tool for quite a while. I used it to make the faux stitching around the card. I saw the chevron idea in a magazine and had the right size pieces left from some other cards I made with 6x6 papers.
VCMP #10 Create a card that represents your state.
North Carolina's flag is red, white, and blue with yellow letters so I used those colors to make a card.

I love that last card. I may have to try it on my own.
ReplyDeleteI love your first and last cards. That distressing on the yellow leaf is really pretty, and I love the faux stitching!
ReplyDeleteWOW you have been real busy making some beautiful cards. I love each and every one of them. Hero's family members are going to be real happy this season.
ReplyDeleteWow you kept up with the entire challenge and made a lot of great cards for OWH! I love the snowmen stamps...too cute.
ReplyDeleteYou are way ahead of me! My fave is the one with faux stitching.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards...my favs are the sketch card (super colors) and the stitching card (zig zags and scripty sentiment). Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect sentiment for the basketball card, Beth. And the background paper is great. Thanks for playing along!
ReplyDeleteGreat set of cards! (Looks like we used the same paper for our sports-themed card!)
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas cards are perfect! I especially like your use of ribbons. In each case, they really help to tie the whole card together -- no pun intended. :)
Thanks so much for playing along with the Christmas is for Kids VCMP challenge!
wow, all of your cards are great! I, too, loved the one with the zig zags and the faux stitching! did you pierce the holes, then draw the stitches? if so, I love that idea and will be "borrowing" it in the future! ;-)
ReplyDeletePenny, I learned that technique from Sandy. She would do her stitching like that before she got her sewing machine.
DeleteHi Beth. Your cards are so cute! You're smart to start getting into the holiday spirit now! I need to kick it up a notch! haha Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment!! That means the world to me. I hope that you will join in on the challenge. Lots of possibilities to win prizes. Have a wonderful week! <3 Candy
ReplyDeleteCandy, we have to have our Christmas cards to the shippers by Oct. 31st for Operation Write Home. They send out blank greeting cards to the deployed service men and women so they can use them to write home.
DeleteLove your chevron card - great way to use scraps! The stitching around the edges really finishes the card off nicely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with our neglected craft tool challenge. I LOVE those chevrons! I have to try that out very soon. Your card is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards. Thanks for playing along in the challenges. My favorite is the chevron card. So creative!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Beth! Love them all! Especially love the fall colors on your sketch card. Thanks for joining us in this week's OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge!
