Jan ODBD Challenge
Over the weekend of New Year's Eve and New Year's, I had some time off so I decided to get all my scraps organized and start using them up. I sorted through scraps, used small pieces to punch out shapes, and got them separated by colors and organized into folders.
I had seen a tutorial on this herringbone pattern and wanted to try it. The first ones I did I used all the same size pieces and followed a pattern with the papers but as I got near the end of my scraps I started using different widths and whatever color I had. I like both ways and it is a very good way to use up scraps.
This is the card I am entering in the Jan ODBD challenge even though they already have the 50 they need to get postage paid on 2 boxes of cards to our heroes overseas. I have had the backgrounds done for 2 weeks and wasn't sure what sentiment I wanted to use until I saw the free digi Paula created for OWHers to use. Thank you, Paula! Here is the link if you would like to download it. Handmade by Paula I love the Spellbinder die that creates the circle with the hearts so I printed the digi to fit in the center and cut it out.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic way to use scraps without them looking like scraps! The spellbinders dies makes a perfect frame for the sentiment (so glad you found it and used it :) Great work!
